Jerry Ricks   *22.05.1940

Jerry Ricks (May 22, 1940 – December 10, 2007) was an American blues guitarist.
Ricks was born and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, playing trumpet as a child; he started playing guitar in local coffee shops in the late 1950s. He worked as a booking manager for the Second Fret Coffee House in Philadelphia from 1960-1966, coming into contact with many key figures in the blues revival (Son House, Lightnin' Hopkins, Libba Cotten, Jesse Fuller, Mance Lipscomb, Lonnie Johnson).
In 1969, Ricks toured with Buddy Guy on a State Department-sponsored East African tour. After returning to the U.S. briefly to do field work in Arkansas for the Smithsonian Institution, he moved to Europe in 1971, remaining there until 1990. He did come back to the states in 1972 and 1973 and recorded with Hall & Oates on Whole Oats and Abandoned Luncheonette.
Ricks recorded 13 solo albums in Europe, but his first American releases did not arrive until 1998, when Rooster Blues released his Deep in the Well. The album was nominated for three W.C. Handy Awards. Many Miles of Blues followed on the same label in 2000.
In 2007 Ricks and his wife moved to Kastav, Croatia, and on December 10, 2007 he died at the age of 67 in Kastav.

Timothy Hawkeye Kane   *22.05.1985

. a musical entity, basing its melody in tones emitted from a harmonica and vocal chords.
Hawkeye Kane is the stage name for one Timothy Kane. Born and reared in the heart of Illinois, Hawkeye first picked up the harmonica in 2002 for the grins of it, starting out with folk music and Civil War tunes for the enjoyment of his immediate family. After a six year hiatus of dabbling in the world of jazz trumpet and rhythm, he rejuvenated his love for the harp in 2008, joining in at the Sunday night open mic at Turasky's Trail's End Saloon in Curran, Illinois. Teaming up with area guitarists Fred Manker and Tim Dugan, he started adding vocals to his repertoire, Jason Mraz and Paolo Nutini being some of his favorite covers.
On Valentine's Day of 2009, a joyous occasion came to pass near Terre Haute, Indiana. Hawkeye Kane married Stephanie Moore, the woman of his dreams. Unlike other women in his past, his blushing bride was an anchor of support in his endeavors to become a better musician, and showed it in earnest by traveling with him to watch him and his colleagues play. To this day, Hawkeye still refers to her as his "Luckiest of Lucky Charms."
The genre of blues settling into his musical taste buds in early 2009, he began learning from his mentor, area harmonica virtuoso "Bad" Bill Robinson. He also began to tour semi-regularly with local artist "Hipbone Sam" Kevin Hawkins. Since then, Hawkeye has sat in and played with Illinois acts such as The Bluesmattics, The Mojo Cats, The Suns of Circumstance, Tombstone Bullets, Prairie Pranksters, Joe Cook Band, Freightshaker, Deak Harp Blues Band, Frank Trompeter Quartet, Burnett & Kornfeld, The Tijuana Toads, Royal Pain, Show Pigs, and The Sarah Schneider Band.

Johnnie Lovesin  *22.05.1949

Veteran rocker from Vancouver who got his start in the mid-1960's spent much of his career honing his guitar and songwriting craft in bars. With a reputation as a street punk, Lovesin got his start playing in Yorkville busking for change.

In 1974 he was dubbing himself 'Crazy John' Lovesin: The Ace From Space. Fronting his own band in November 1976, Johnnie Lovesin And The Invisible Band opened for The Ramones at the New Yorker Theatre in Toronto and was observed by Toronto Sun columnist Wilder Penfield III as having blown The Ramones off the stage.

Lovesin (now 'The Electric Kid') and his band open play at the Rock Shock Concert with Teenage Head and others in May 1977. Later that year, Lovesin and The Sidewalk Commandos get national exposure at the CNE Bandshell. Lovesin releases several singles on the short-lived SMILE Label.

In 1978 Lovesin was blazing across the Canadian club scene with a band called THE N.E.X.T. who manage to open for the Runaways at The Elmocambo in Toronto.

Lovesin set down in Toronto and in 1980 he releases "Set The Night On Fire" on Taxi Records featuring many backing musicians including Greg Godovitz (Goddo), Terry Hattie, Dave Stone, Doug Baynham, Greg McIlveen, Glen Morrow, Chris Gibb (The Deserters), and Dave Dobko.

Following a nomination for a CFNY-FM U-Know Award in 1985 for 'Male Vocalist Of The Year' based on the airplay of "(I Need A) Working Girl" from his Amber Productions 'Rough Side Of Town' EP, Lovesin was signed directly to A & M Records.

Supporting his 'Tough Breaks' album, in 1987 Lovesin performed at the Kingswood Music Theatre opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan. He also performed twice at Ontario Place, in Toronto -- with Big Sugar, backing him on one occasion. Lovesin has also been the subject of a MuchMusic "The Big Ticket" special, and still gets aired on to this day.

Dr. Will  *22.05.

Erdig & abgehoben.
